We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer for our client, to manage a team at a busy production site. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Engineering and proven ability to work with electrical and mechanical equipment.

You will be an experienced Engineer with a strong electrical bias. Evidence of this will include the following:

  • Ability to install and programme an invertor on a three phase induction motor.
  • Ability to read and fault find on an electrical system.
  • You will be able to fault find on PLC’s.
  • You will also have good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, with strong diagnostic skills and be proactive in your approach

Ideally you will be educated to at least a City & Guilds level 3 or NVQ level 3 in a relevant qualification

As General Manager you will lead the Senior Management team in a large facility employing over 300 people. You will continuously identify opportunities to improve the business and deliver excellent customer service in a safe working environment. 

Requirements:
  • Excellent people management skills, preferably in a manufacturing and production / process industry.
  • Proven experience and technical knowledge covering production, engineering, customer service and finance.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent and/or proven experience in similar manufacturing environment (eg Laundry, FMCG, Dairy, pharmaceuticals, food production).
  • Knowledge of Lean (Six Sigma) methodologies.

The Role

TECHNICAL SERVICE ACCOUNT MANAGER

A field based role covering South West England, working for an International Chemical Manufacturer that provides high quality detergents and chemicals to Industrial Laundries throughout Europe and the UK.

Responsibilities:
  • To manage, develop and enhance customer relationships. You will be expected to promote the company services, and the professional image of the Company. 
  • You will provide a high quality service to both existing and future customers, and by way of technical expertise, monitor, retain and expand business with existing customers.
  • Ensure that quotes and samples requests are followed up.
  • To maintain appropriate product information and product sales aids.
  • To ensure that optimum use is made of any opportunity for product trials.
  • To identify opportunities at customers premises to help improve Laundry efficiency and ensure customers fully experience the value of our products and expertise.
Whilst full product training will be provided, it would be beneficial to possess an Electrical/Mechanical engineering background. 

ENGINEERING MANAGER
London 60K+

The ideal candidate will need an mechanical/electrical engineering qualification and preferably have experience of working in an Industrial Laundry. Alternatively, from an FMCG or high speed production / manufacturing background with transferable skills.

The Role:

To lead, manage and continually develop the Engineering Teams in the achievement of functional objectives that support the site/plant and Company Business Plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning, organising and coordinating resources to meet production requirements of ongoing maintenance, machine replacement and unplanned issues. 
  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment as per production requirements.
  • Monitor and continuously improve machine availability and effectiveness.
  • Work with approved suppliers to obtain parts and machinery.
  • Ensure all plant property, equipment and other assets are fit for purpose in compliance with group standards.
  • Providing training to engineers and operators on new machinery.
  • Manage and develop employees (including absence, performance management, grievances and Health and Safety Training) during regular review and feedback meetings.
  • Agree budgets with Line Managers, managing all activities in accordance with the agreed budget and resolving any variances.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve all production/engineering problems, eliminating unplanned downtime and continuously improving working practices
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to analyse data and interpret information effectively to continuously improve the team
  • Experience in managing a team, particularly in a production/process facility·IT skills
  • Educated to degree level with an engineering discipline or time served as an apprentice with experience of electrical/mechanical/steam operations
